Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 4, 2026
The short version: Memora processes everything locally on your device. We don't collect your meeting data, we don't sell your information, and we don't track you. You own your data completely.
1. What Memora (the app) collects
Memora is a desktop application that runs entirely on your machine. Here is what stays local and never reaches us:
- Meeting recordings and audio — captured and stored locally on your device.
- Transcriptions — generated on your device using local AI models (Whisper). Never sent to any server.
- Summaries, action items, and notes — generated locally using on-device AI (Qwen). Stored in a local SQLite database.
- Chat history and search queries — stored locally in your database.
We have zero access to your meeting content. There is no telemetry, no usage analytics, and no phone-home mechanism in the app by default.
2. What the landing page collects
Our website (this site) collects minimal information:
- Email address — if you join the waitlist. Submitted via Formspree (our form handler). We use this solely to notify you when Memora is available and to send occasional product updates.
- Survey responses — if you choose to answer the optional onboarding survey after signing up. This helps us understand what to build. These are linked to your email via Formspree.
We do not use cookies, analytics tools, tracking pixels, or any third-party tracking on this website.
3. Optional integrations
Memora offers optional integrations that you can enable at your discretion. These may involve data leaving your device.
Google Calendar
- If you connect Google Calendar, Memora uses OAuth to access your calendar events.
- OAuth tokens are stored locally on your device — we never see or store them.
- Calendar data (event titles, times, participants) is synced to your local SQLite database to help you organize meetings.
- No calendar data is sent to Memora or any third party.
Notion
- If you connect Notion, you provide an API key that is stored locally on your device.
- Memora uses this key to export meeting summaries to your Notion workspace and/or import Notion pages into your local knowledge base.
- All synced Notion data is stored locally. We never see your API key or your Notion content.
Cloud AI providers (Claude, OpenAI)
- By default, Memora uses only local AI models. No data is sent to any cloud AI service.
- If you explicitly configure a cloud AI provider by entering your own API key, some data (such as transcript text or your queries) will be sent to that provider's API for processing.
- This is entirely opt-in. You control which provider you use and what data is sent. Refer to Anthropic's privacy policy or OpenAI's privacy policy for details on how they handle data.
4. Crash reporting (future)
We may add opt-in crash reporting (via Sentry) in the future. If we do:
- It will be strictly opt-in — disabled by default.
- Crash reports will contain stack traces and technical diagnostic information only.
- They will never include meeting content, transcriptions, audio, or personal data.
5. Payments
Memora is sold via Paddle, our Merchant of Record. When you purchase Memora:
- Paddle collects and processes your payment information (name, email, billing address, payment method).
- We receive your name, email, and license key — but not your full payment details.
- Refer to Paddle's privacy policy for details on how they handle payment data.
6. We do not sell or share your data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Period.
7. Data retention and deletion
Since your meeting data lives entirely on your device:
- You can delete any meeting, recording, or transcript at any time from within the app.
- To remove all Memora data, simply delete the app and its data folder from your machine. There is nothing to request from us because we don't have your data.
- If you joined the waitlist and want your email removed, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Children's privacy
Memora is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top and, where possible, notify you via email or within the app.
